A shared fence is a common problem in small communities. It can be difficult to get someone to take care of it, especially if the fence is in a critical location. Here are three tips for approaching your neighbour about replacing a shared fence:

Before fixing the fence, it’s important to get to know your neighbour. What are their interests, and what do they like to do? How do you think the two of you would handle the shared fence?

Let them know that you are interested in replacing the fence and see what they would like to do. They may be able to offer a solution that meets both your needs and the needs of their community.

It’s important to wait until their next communication to better understand what they’re up to. You can use this information to determine what steps you need to take and when.

Reflect on your past relationship with them before you start the discussion.

If you’ve had a negative experience with them in the past, you may be less likely to approach them. However, if you’ve been in a good relationship with them, it’s probably best to start the conversation. You can ask if they want to fix the fence and see if they’re available. If they’re not available, you can try to get their opinion on approaching the problem.

Try knocking or leaving a note on your neighbour’s door.

One way to get your neighbour to take care of the fence is to try and get them to see the problem from their perspective. If you can make them aware of the possibility of a shared fence, they may be more likely to take action.

What effort and money you’re prepared to put into it.

If the fence is in a sensitive location, you’ll want to put a lot of effort into it. If you’re just going to replace the fence, you might not need as much money as you think. You could also consider hiring a professional to do the job.

If you can find a cheaper alternative that meets your needs, do so!

We bring you the 2021 trends so you know what is most “In” this year in bathrooms and taps

Currently, there are a wide variety of styles available that you can work on when it comes to the bathroom, to give it the personality you are looking for in your home.

That is why we decided to look for the 2021 trends so that you can choose the one that best suits your project.

What are the 2021 trends to renovate your bathroom?

The new armor

You can add a new meaning to bathroom faucets and drains with polished ones, or in pretty finishes that are less conventional.

To give it more personality, you can choose copper or gold colors; the retro touch. It is also a great option for those who want a transitional style in the bathrooms.

Comforts for aging in one’s own environment

This is a trend that has been growing in recent years and consists of adapting your bathroom to the comforts that you may need as you get older.

This includes: using a shower on the same level as the entire bathroom (to avoid tripping), placing grab bars, and even placing a rest bench inside the shower.

Everything so that as the years go by, you remain comfortable with bathrooms.

Let nature seep in

Now, the comfort and beauty in bathrooms go beyond technicalities.

It involves the environment that is created in it. A very good way to achieve this is by using “natural” materials and thus giving the bathroom an ecological aspect.

For example, using materials like a stone on the floor of the shower or in the sink, you can give it that effect.

Stick to the classics

If you prefer to take a less risky path when remodeling your spaces, you can always use classic trends with new retro products.

For example, use copper taps and drains and even let the pipes show to give a more industrial touch to bathrooms.

The growth of linear drains

It is not that it is only one of the 2021 trends, but that the customization possibilities are varied, and its functionality is unbeatable.

You can use linear drains in different environments, even with the same material that you use for the rest of the bathroom and thus hide it more, or show it off and let visitors marvel at it.

In addition, it receives more water in less time and helps prevent the creation of fungus on the floor of the screen.

Quality still comes first

Regardless of what 2021 trends you are following, or what changes you want to make, the most important thing is to be able to use quality products that last for a long time without deteriorating in the face of humidity or the temperatures in bathrooms. Now the durable finish is what is most fashionable.

The time for decks has finally come. Which wood to choose?
Which products to use? How do you create a solid foundation?
We tell you how to build a deck. The first step in building a deck is not to put the law … or the neighbours, on your back!
First, determine where the exact boundaries of your lot are. Then, according to the
municipality, a permit may be necessary: proof of the limits of the land and diagram of
the deck to support it. Make a phone call to your municipality to find out their
requirements; this could save you a lot of hassle.

If you are looking for Austin deck builders then make sure to call these guys:

Composite material boards

They are made of recycled plastic and have a vague look of wood (yes, they are very
easily distinguishable). They come in different colors, require little maintenance, and
their lifespan is much higher than that of wood because water does not damage them.
To remove scratches and mold, high-pressure washing should suffice. Composite
materials are, therefore, an excellent alternative to the wood used on decks (for
gardening boxes, tables or benches, for example).
* The composite material boards cannot be used for the structure… and they are much
more expensive!

Cover your joists

Wet wood is not a problem, as long as it can dry! The important thing is, therefore, to
avoid standing water on the wood. This is why we are big fans of the drips – made of
metal, elastomer, or type of weather barrier (glued air barrier membrane) – placed on
the joists, under the platform. They will allow the water that reaches the top of the joists
to drip. Attention to the choice of color, the membranes will be slightly visible between
the boards.

Create spacings

They are necessary between the boards for drainage purposes, but also to avoid the
accumulation of debris. Based on the assumption that the boards will shrink over time,
some manufacturers install the boards very tightly. But this is not always the case, and if
your boards are very dry, they might even expand under the exposure of rain and
humidity. With too small a gap, dirt mixed with water may clog the spaces and thus
retain moisture.
It is therefore advisable to space the boards properly from the start: spacing the width of
a head of a deck screw should suffice.

Do not push the screws too far.

If you push them too far, tiny water tanks could be created. Better to leave the head of
the screw flush with the wood.

Screw from underneath and place tinplate corners

This procedure requires extra effort, but the results are visually interesting, the screws
are hidden under the boards. The metal support is screwed on the side of the joist and
under the board. Please note, this does not prevent problems with standing water at the
level of the screws. To make sure you have enough flesh for the screw, you will need to
use 2×4 or 2×6 planks on the floor (otherwise, you could get through the plank!).
